PROJECTS

Collaborative Development & Industry–Academia Partnerships

Reaching beyond the machine shop into the community, academia, sports, and space.
MATERIAL's precision machining technology proves its value across many facets of society.

COMMUNITY PROJECT

Shitamachi Bobsleigh

A project led by machine shops in Ota City to develop a Japanese-made bobsleigh. It began with the aspiration to "showcase to the world the manufacturing strength of Ota City, the city of industry." MATERIAL was responsible for the precision cutting work.

UNIVERSITY × INDUSTRY

Hybrid Rocket

An industry–academia partnership with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kanagawa University.
MATERIAL collaborated on the design of the separation mechanism and handled the precision machining of aluminum (A7075) components.

SPORTS PRODUCT

Skateboard

A joint design and development project. Using our aluminum (A2017) cutting technology, we achieved a lightweight yet highly durable deck component.

SPORTS PRODUCT

Field Hockey Stick

We handled the entire process in-house, from mold making to aluminum (A2017) cutting, achieving the high-precision forming required for competition equipment.
